Marketing and Communications Intern

The Cobb Chamber of Commerce has a marketing and communications internship position available for the fall semester. Working with the marketing and communications staff, you will benefit from being involved in many different projects. Our Goal is to provide interns with practical, real-world experience that will benefit them in the beginning of their career. Internship responsibilities include, but are not limited to: writing, distributing and pitching press releases, coordinating special marketing projects, assisting with community publications, working with Chamber staff and membership on projects and events, assisting Marketing and Communications staff with day-to-day activities, networking with Chamber members and calculating media equivalencies. This is an unpaid internship.

Communications and Marketing Intern

The Communications Intern of the Cumberland Community Improvement District (CID) reports to the Manager of Outreach who oversees marketing, communications, and community engagement efforts for Cumberland, the central business district of Cobb County.

Responsibilities include writing articles for e-communications and social media, working with the various social media platforms utilized by the CID, media monitoring, and graphic design among other tasks.

Experience working with Microsoft Office, Photoshop and InDesign a must.  Experience using WordPress ideal but not mandatory.

With more than $5 billion of public and private investments in Cumberland, including the new Atlanta Braves ballpark and The Battery ATL development, the intern will be exposed to a dynamic work environment.  Desired skills include the ability to write for multiple audiences; to work with social media, e-marketing, and web software; and to communicate effectively.

Wordpress Website Designer

Description of the Internship: 

I'm looking for someone who wants to complete a website design project on wordpress.  Invati currently has a wordpress site but it is time for a theme upgrade and content refresh.

Skill Requirements:

This role is perfect for someone who:

• Has an eye for clean design and can identify some WP themes


• Can take existing content and throw it into new appealing design


• Can do light research into a few other consulting firm websites for ideas and propose some recommendations


• Can take drawings/website flow ideas I provide and turn them into reality


• Leave me a site I can maintain


• Preferred: some eye/capability for user experience


• Can be held accountable and take initiative on their own - can work well virtually (i.e. can work via email).

I am familiar with wordpress and have built multiple sites of my own. This is NOT a website build from scratch. You will be working with a wealth of content that already exists and transferring it to a new site. The timeline is flexible with the project to be complete by end of 2017. I would likely want to meet in person at the launch of the project.

Tentative Timeline:

• Kick off project by end of Aug


• Research phase in Sept


• Start transitioning to a new site in Oct


• Review and finalize in Nov

Digital Beauty Marketing Intern

Eva Jane Beauty, LLC is a growing beauty company that has quickly become international in its customer base, including distribution in the United States, throughout the middle east and parts of Europe. Our primary product lines are in the catagory of beauty tools. Interns will be required to work with social media influencers and our brand ambassadors to promote and grow our brands. Duties will include creating, filming, managing and updating web content and social media accounts, speaking with customers and building relations within the international beauty community. They will be responsible for organizing mailers to send out to prospective customers and beauty influencers and will work in close connection with the owner of the company, Eva Jane Bunkley, two-time Emmy Award Winning Makeup Artist and Brand Owner. The intern will have opportunities to design new campaigns and promotions around the brand so the ideal candidate is a self-starter who possesses creative problem solving abilities with a positive mindset.

The student will be required to come to work in our Fayetteville office for 15-20 hours per week. Onsite parking is free of charge. Attire is business casual. Own laptop desired but not required. There will be occasional opportunities to work from home as well depending on the project. Ideal candidate has solid writing skills, is well groomed, understands professional business etiquette, is teachable and eager to learn and is comfortable speaking and interacting with the public; both over the phone and in person.
