What you’ll do: 
Prepare and test products per certification body standards (UL, CSA, ICEA, etc.)
Physical property testing (tensile and elongation)
Small Scale Flame (VW-1, Horizontal/FT-2, Burning Particles)
Report clear and concise data to Polymer Chemist and/or customers

Pick up and deliver samples and/or supplies at locations other than the Cofer Center (BWP,
SCUPP, MSG, Corporate Supply, etc.)

Perform physically demanding tasks with a weight of at least 25 lbs. and standing for long
periods of time – often requires personnel to get dirty

Juggle multiple testing efforts in a time constrained environment

Read and understand test procedures called out in certification body standards (UL, CSA, ICEA,
etc.) – a lot of reading and writing

Ability to adapt to change quickly while still resolving current issues and presenting
solutions/data

Assist in product development through testing new products

Bilingual (Spanish/English) Entry Level Outside Sales Trainee

Elementary Spanish Immersion Teacher

AmeriCorps Full-Time TutorCorps (August 2017 Start Date)

Dedicate a year to service and provide urban students with the individualized attention they need to achieve college success. Position Summary

As a member of the Great Oaks Tutor Corps, you will mentor and tutor middle or high school students at a Great Oaks Charter School for the duration of one school year (August-June). This is a service role through AmeriCorps with regular full-time hours Monday-Friday and some Saturdays.

In exchange for your year of service you will receive a living stipend, free furnished housing with utilities included, health insurance and on-going professional development throughout the year. You will also be eligible for a Segal Education Award through AmeriCorps after the completion of your AmeriCorps term of service. Most of your day will be spent tutoring students one-on-one or in small groups. You will also take part in secondary projects that directly impact the academic achievements of students. These projects may include providing in-class or curriculum support, organizing or leading after school clubs or working with our culture team.

Specific responsibilities include:

Bolstering student achievement:

• Provide daily tutoring to several small groups of Great Oaks students
• Work closely with teachers to develop individualized tutorial content
• Assess student progress on a regular basis
• Bridge a connection between classroom teachers and the content they deliver in their classrooms with the content you are delivering during tutorial sessions
• Lead after-school student clubs
• Support Saturday Academy over the course of the school year when necessary (dependent on school community placement)

• Actively participate in meetings pertaining to your role as a tutor and the success of the students you are working with

Building relationships with families:

• Develop authentic relationships with families through phone calls and other communications to share progress on student tutorial performance
• Attend family and parent events

Assist with overall student success during the school day:

•Be present during transitions and escorting students when necessary
•Engage with students during their lunch period
•Assist with other activities and projects that directly impact student success

Qualifications and Competencies

As a prerequisite, the successful Tutor Corps candidate must believe in the mission of Great Oaks. The candidate should demonstrate a passion for breaking new ground to lead social change. A successful candidate will also bring the following qualifications and competencies:
