Habitat for Humanity is seeking to fill 500+ AmeriCorps positions in communities across the United States. These are full time service opportunities (with a living allowance) that range from 10 ½ - 12 months and offer a great opportunity to recent graduates to make a real impact in the lives of others while simultaneously building oneâs own knowledge and skill-set level.
As a Habitat AmeriCorps Member, you will receive a monthly living allowance, paid leave time, and access to other benefits such as the Segal Education Award (valued up to $5,815.) While the living allowance wonât make anyone rich, it is sufficient to meet the basic needs and some host sites may provide some additional assistance to help with housing costs.
Most members begin service in August and September 2017.

What Youâll Do
As a Habitat AmeriCorps member, you will be placed in one of our 100+ communities supported by our local Habitat affiliates. You will use your passion and commitment to service to meet the needs of our Habitat affiliates by engaging communities, building capacity, and increasing productivity. There are many individualized roles to choose from, so finding one that utilizes your strengths and unique skillset should be pretty easy. We offer roles ranging from construction to volunteer management to project development.

Community Education Liaison
*Serve as an educational consultant to hospitals, Rehab Centers, Skilled Nursing Facilities (SNF) or Doctors' offices related to skilled home health care services. Description of Projects (for intern):
Under the guidance of experienced WestEd researchers, interns will participate as full team members on the projects on which they participate. They will author sections of literature reviews; participate in quantitative and/or qualitative data collection, analysis, and reporting; help design evaluation plans; and collaborate with the team to develop and submit proposals to funders.
Our expectation is that interns will develop skills and experience in applied, client-driven research and communicating results that are actionable and useful to a variety of audiences.
As such, we are looking for individuals who wish to pursue research-driven careers.
Scope of Work (for Temp or intern):
Expected Duties
⢠Conducting literature searches through online databases
⢠Contributing to literature reviews, reports, presentations, and proposals
⢠Analyzing quantitative and qualitative data (We are expecting to hire one intern with strong quantitative background and skills and one intern with strong qualitative background and skills)
⢠Developing, programming, administering, and analyzing online surveys
⢠Participating in one-on-one interviews and focus groups
⢠Authoring and communicating technical results and arguments clearly to non-technical audiences
Timeframe
⢠Internships can begin as soon as June 5, or sometime afterwards depending on the internâs schedule.
⢠Potential interns should be willing to commit to a two-month period, at minimum. Note, though, that internships can be extended well beyond that period.
⢠Interns may work between 10 and 20 hours per week.
⢠We understand the need for flexibility with schedules and demands for coursework and degree completion, and are willing to work with you to help you meet your goals.
Goal(s) of Internship:
We are currently seeking to fill several paid internships to contribute to one or more of our current projects, some of which include:
1. Working with Atlanta Public Schools to develop, implement, evaluate, and refine a comprehensive school safety plan
2. Evaluating an initiative at Kennesaw State University to assist transfer students, increasing the likelihood that they succeed in their courses and graduate on-time
3. Evaluating a federal grant to Georgia Tech, the purpose of which is to develop and test electronically accessible textbooks for visually impaired students in minority-serving postsecondary institutions
4. Studying ways to improve classroom observation techniques to improve interrater reliability
5. Analyzing interview transcripts for a ten-district community of practice focused on implementing new Math curricula.
These are but a sample of the range of projects available.
The goals of the internship is to facilitate the career development of individuals interested in pursuing careers in applied research and to provide them with a variety of experiences at various points in the life stages of projects.
Supervision and Evaluation:
Upon hiring, interns will work with WestEd Atlanta staff to develop a learning agreement which will outline their goals for the internship. Throughout the internship period interns will meet with their supervisor on a bimonthly basis to discuss progress towards learning objective goals and revise as necessary. In addition to these bi-monthly meetings, the supervisor will communicate with interns via email and phone on a regular basis in order to outline specific assignments and provide feedback. Interns will also participate in weekly Atlanta All-Staff meetings.

Position Summary
As a member of the Great Oaks Tutor Corps, you will mentor and tutor middle or high school students at a Great Oaks Charter School for the duration of one school year (August-June). This is a service role through AmeriCorps with regular full-time hours Monday-Friday and some Saturdays.

Most of your day will be spent tutoring students one-on-one or in small groups. You will also take part in secondary projects that directly impact the academic achievements of students. These projects may include providing in-class or curriculum support, organizing or leading after school clubs or working with our culture team.
